AARP Foundation: Tackling Senior Food Insecurity
AARP Foundation works to end senior poverty by helping vulnerable older adults build economic opportunity and social connectedness. The Foundation is seeking to support applicants with evidence-based, innovative solutions positioned for exponential growth to bring to scale proven approaches that increase food security among hundreds of thousands of low-income older adults. The Foundation is launching new solutions that equip low-income older adults to increase their ability to access and afford nutritious food. Examples include:
- Grocery Delivery Services
- Mobile Markets
- Prepared Meals Services
In addition to developing its own solutions, AARP Foundation works with external organizations that are positioned to scale evidence-based programs to increase food security in older adults.
Amount: Not specified. Application must provide a 1:1 dollar match (cash or in-kind) from one or more other funding sources.
Eligibility: National or regional organizations with built-in distribution channels, such as affiliates, members, chapters, or collaborative partnerships. AARP Foundation is seeking organizations that seek to serve hundreds of thousands of individuals in a cost-effective manner. Note: Individual affiliates or chapters of national organizations are not eligible to apply.
