Action for Healthy Kids: Universal School Building Breakfast Grants
Action for Healthy Kids (AFHK), with partners Kellogg Company Fund and the Walmart Foundation, is seeking applications to support school breakfast programs. The grant will provide funding to pilot a universal and alternative breakfast program at schools. Funded schools will also receive expertise to help implement a successful project that leads to sustainable change. Schools must strive to achieve an increase in average daily participation of the new universal breakfast program to target 65% or greater. Schools must complete AFHK’s modified version of the School Health Index and also join the celebration during Every Kid Healthy Week by hosting a family-friendly health-promoting event during April 2017.
Amount: $5,000 per school, which includes $4,900 in funds and $100 in promotional items.
Eligibility: Schools that participate in the National School Lunch Program and National School Breakfast Program; schools must have a free/reduced priced meal eligibility greater than 60%.
