City of Albuquerque: Social Services and Behavioral Health Services for Fiscal Year 2016, Downtown Teen Center
The Downtown Teen Center will provide youth services and activities that include but are not limited to: providing of quality entertainment with a variety of music and arts programming for young people, increasing access and education to young people who want to get involved in learning the production of musical and other performance events, providing emerging musicians the opportunity to perform and gain exposure in a professional environment, providing entrepreneurial opportunities for young people, building/coordinating programs that are flexible and responsive to youth interests and needs, building opportunities for youth participation in delivery of programs, employment of talented and committed professional staff to create opportunity for youth engagement, and collaborating with community partners to create complementary programs. Successful respondents will also explain coordination with other agencies.
Amount: A total of $219,000 will be allocated toward the Downtown Teen Center.
Eligibility: An agency which is a unit of state or local government and/or an agency currently incorporated as a nonprofit corporation, duly registered and in good standing with the Secretary of the State of New Mexico, which has not-for-profit status under 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Service Code and which has demonstrated capability in providing the services for which it is applying.
