City of Rio Rancho: Community Development Block Grant Program
The City of Rio Rancho seeks proposals for assistance in distributing its 2016/2017 U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant funding to carry out a wide range of community development activities directed towards revitalizing neighborhoods, economic development, and providing improved community facilities and services. Eligible activities must meet one of three of HUD’s National Objectives including benefits to the low-and-moderate income persons, aid in the prevention or elimination of slums or blight, or to meet other community development needs having a particular urgency because existing conditions pose a serious or immediate threat to the health or welfare of the community and where other financial resources are not available to meet such needs. Types of projects which qualify are neighborhood public improvements and facilities, housing, public services, handicap accessibility, code enforcement, and job creation and retention. Scoring criteria includes addressing the following:
- Infrastructure for housing/shelter/other infrastructure
- Neighborhood parks/capital improvements
- Street Improvement, or related
- Improved public facility to deliver new services or increase services
Amount: Approximately $400,000 is available for multiple awards.
Eligibility: Public and private nonprofit organizations.
