Firehouse Subs: Public Safety GrantsDeadline: March 7, 2014
The mission of the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation is to improve the life-saving capabilities of emergency service entities in communities served by the Firehouse Subs chain of restaurants. Program goals include: (1) Provision of emergency service entities with life-saving equipment; (2) Provision of prevention and educational tools to the public about the importance of fire safety, emergency services, and natural disaster preparedness; (3) Provision of financial resources to individuals pursuing a career in the public safety sector through scholarship programs; and (4) Provision of ground assistance during disasters by feeding victims and medical workers on the scene.
Amount: Funds primarily for equipment. Past comparable award amounts have ranged from approximately $1,500-$20,000.
Eligibility: Organizations must be located within a 60-mile radius of a Firehouse Subs restaurant. In New Mexico, there are three restaurants in Albuquerque.
NOTE: The Foundation has three additional deadlines in 2014: June 6, September 5, and December 5.
