The Freeport-McMoRan Foundation offers Community Investment Funds in communities where it operates. CIF’s engages community leaders in cultivating and assessing community projects that address identified community priorities, and allows them to allocate Freeport-McMoRan Foundation funds to programs and projects that encourage a strong focus on local capacity-building, community development, and sustainability.
Grantmaking focus areas identified for Grant County, New Mexico include:
- Education and training: Focuses include K-12 education; career/college readiness; and early childhood education and services
- Health and wellness: Access to quality care and healthcare facilities; mental health/social services; domestic violence prevention; family and youth engagement; and fitness, nutrition, or other health education
- Community and economic development: Business diversification, support, and attraction; housing; and infrastructure development
Amount: Grants average $20,000-$50,000.
Eligibility: Tax-exempt, nonprofit organizations, units of government, or college/university that provide direct services in Grant County, New Mexico.
