Isora Foundation
The Isora Foundation is committed to empowering individuals to improve conditions within their communities in the areas of health, education, economic development, and social justice. The Foundation seeks to support organizations or projects that:
- Support sustainable economic development and social change, often within grassroots and/or indigenous communities
- Attempt to change negative social, economic and cultural barriers through their efforts in education, leadership development and advocacy
- Use the visual/performing arts and social media to empower individuals and inform communities
- Have strong evaluation plans to demonstrate their success in achieving their goals
Past grants have included projects addressing the health and educational needs of indigenous people; economic development in immigrant communities; youth organizations; and individuals affected by the stigmatization of mental illness. The Foundation values projects that use a variety of media to tell their story and promote their goals.
Amount: Grants typically range $1,000-$15,000.
Eligibility: Tax-exempt, nonprofit organizations. Giving is on a national and international basis.
