Los Alamos National Labs (LANL) FoundationDeadline: May 15, 2017
The LANL Foundation is committed to investing in human potential through: Helping Children Learn, Nurturing their Dreams, and Strengthening Communities. The LANL Foundation’s grants program was updated in 2017 in order to: more fairly distribute its small grants; assure its grants are in alignment with Foundation strategies; make it easier for grantees to apply online; and allow grantees more time to spend grant money. It makes grants in two categories in order to fulfill its commitment to children and the community:
- Education Outreach Grants directly support education programs for public school children in grades K–12.
- Community Outreach Grants still meet the LANL Foundation’s mission and vision of innovative programming, collaboration, and advocacy for lifelong learning but might not be as directly tied to K–12 public education. (Early childhood, adult learning, or community events are few focus areas that fall under this category.)
Programs must serve the seven northern New Mexico counties of Los Alamos, Mora, Rio Arriba, San Miguel, Sandoval, Santa Fe, or Taos.
Amount: Annual giving is approximately $125,000, with grants ranging up to $2,500.
Eligibility: Tax-exempt, nonprofit organizations registered and in good standing with the New Mexico Office of the Attorney General; school districts; state government agencies; and pueblo/tribal communities.
Note: Additional deadlines in 2017 are August 15 and November 15.
