National Geographic: Exploration Grant
The Exploration Grant will support experienced project leaders in the areas of conservation, education, research, storytelling, and technology. The applicant and his or her team members are expected to demonstrate successful completion of similar projects with measurable and/or tangible results.
Amount: Projects are typically funded for $10,000-$30,000.
Eligibility: In general, individuals who are at least 18 years of age can apply to a National Geographic Society Foundation grant. Anyone with more than five years of professional experience in the field of their project focus are encouraged to apply to the Exploration Grant. Organizations can also apply for grants, but the person within the organization who will lead the project—not the institution—should be the applicant. Giving is on an international basis.
