New Mexico Aging and Long Term Services Department: New Mexico Senior Games and Health Promotion ServicesDeadline: March 22, 2016
The New Mexico Aging and Long Term Services Department is seeking to support an organization to provide the annual New Mexico Senior Games, support the provision of senior games in local communities, facilitate the participation of New Mexico athletes in the National Senior Games, and provide related health promotion services to persons 50 years of age and older in the state of New Mexico.
The annual state senior games provide opportunities for older adults to engage in physical activity and to participate in a variety of formal competitions. Athletes who qualify in the state games may compete in the National Senior Games. In addition, local communities across the state may elect to host local games and receive support and guidance from the state games provider in doing so.
The Agency also supports a wide array of classes and programs for older adults to learn new skills, develop healthy habits and stay active at home and in their communities. The Agency encourages implementation of evidence-based health promotion programming to achieve the greatest impact in the lives of participants. Outreach and educational events are conducted to encourage maximum participation among the diverse communities of New Mexico.
Amount: A total of approximately $722,521 is available to fund a single source contract award for services statewide for one year. Awards may be made for a term of one year with the option of seven additional one year extensions.
Eligibility: Public or private organizations are eligible to apply.
