New Mexico Human Services Department: Homeless Meals Program
The goals of the Homeless Meal Program are to: 1) increase access to services that reduce hunger; and 2) provide nutritious meals to homeless clients throughout the state, lessening food insecurity in the state of New Mexico. Awarded applicants are expected to provide the following activities:
- Work in partnership with public and private agencies, groups, or individuals to implement the state plan through ongoing strategies and activities
- Provide prepared meals to homeless clients at no cost
- Provide a schedule of when meals will be served on a weekly basis
- Advertise to inform public of the availability of homeless meals
Allowable expenditures are for food, kitchen, and dining supplies and labor for the food service.
Amount: Contract award(s) will be made. Awards may be renewed on an annual basis for up to three additional years. Applicants are expected to provide a dollar-for-dollar match to funds awarded.
Eligibility: An Offeror is defined as “any person, corporation, or partnership who chooses to submit a proposal.” Applicants are expected to have relevant organizational experience within the last five years.
