New Mexico Public Education Department: Carl D. Perkins for State Supported Institutions
In accordance with the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act, the New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) provides financial support to serve individuals in state institutions, such as state correctional institutions and institutions that serve individuals with disabilities. The Carl D. Perkins Career Act works to develop more fully the academic, vocational, and technical skills of secondary students and postsecondary students who elect to enroll in career and technical education programs.
The NMPED is inviting New Mexico State Supported Institutions to apply for the Carl D. Perkins funding to be utilized for the development, improvement, and/or expansion of Career Technical Education programs for students enrolled in state supported institutions. Interested entities are to submit a 2 year plan detailing activities and budget scope on a yearly basis.
Award: An estimated $10,000 is available on an annual basis. In order to provide a more comprehensive range of programs and services, the NMPED College and Career Readiness Bureau (CCRB) is seeking to support a 2-year implementation plan for organizations in the amount of $20,000 where the funded institution commits for 2 years.
Eligibility: New Mexico State Supported Institutions.
