Paso Del Norte Health Foundation: Think.Change Initiative
The Paso del Norte Health Foundation will support organizations in one of the following interest areas that help meet the Think.Change initiative goal to reduce stigma associated with mental illness:
- Implementation of evidence-based trainings to reduce mental illness stigma and bias among people (i.e., teachers, landlords, law enforcement, etc.) who have frequent contact with individuals with a mental health condition
- Implementation of evidence-based education programs for individuals and families on emotional health, mental illness symptoms, management, and treatment options
- Implementation of evidence-based navigator training for individuals willing to serve as advocates, system navigators, or volunteer presenters, including people with lived experience
- Advocacy for policy change aimed at reducing the stigma and negative bias associated with mental illness
Amount: Grants typically range from $50,000-$200,000.
Eligibility: Nonprofit tax-exempt organizations, including churches and units of government, located in the Paso del Norte region, which includes El Paso and Hudspeth Counties in far west Texas, Doña Ana, Luna, and Otero Counties in southern New Mexico, and the municipality of Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico.
