Patagonia: Environmental Work Spring Cycle

Patagonia funds environmental work and is most interested in making grants to organizations that identify and work on the root causes of problems and that approach issues with a commitment to long-term change. Patagonia funds small, grassroots, activist organizations with provocative direct-action agendas, working on multi-pronged campaigns to preserve and protect our environment. This includes local groups working to protect local habitats. Patagonia seeks to fund innovative groups that produce measurable results, and to support efforts that force the government to abide by its laws. It looks for projects that are:

  • action-oriented
  • build public involvement and support
  • strategic
  • focused on root causes
  • specific in their goals and objectives

Amount: The typical grant range is up to $12,000.

Eligibility: Organizations with 501(c)(3) status or a comparable fiscal sponsor. Funding is limited to: United States, Canada, Japan, Chile, Argentina, United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, Norway, Luxembourg, Italy, Ireland, Germany, France, Denmark, Belgium, Austria, Australia and the Czech Republic.
