Presbyterian Mission Agency: Presbyterian Women Thank Offering Grants
Presbyterian Women (PW) is an independent organization within the Presbyterian Church (USA) of more than 200,000 women. The Thank Offering has a long tradition with Presbyterian Women (PW). The Offering is a one-time grant that primarily funds smaller new/expanded projects and small capital improvement projects, such as agricultural development, child care, community organization, literacy, and more. The Thank Offering will support programs that:
- Have a clearly defined purpose that meets basic human needs. The purpose must be in accordance with the mission, goals, and policies of the Presbyterian Church (USA)
- Provide a form of aid that relates directly to the people being served
Be a creative project less than three years old or an existing project moving in a new direction
Applicants must be able to:
- Describe how the project will improve the lives of people served and how those served will be involved with the project
- Indicate how the project will work with women, children, youth, young adults, persons of diverse races and/or ethnicities, and/or persons with disabilities, to enhance their quality of life
Amount: A total of 20-30 grants that typically range from $5,000-$50,000 each will be awarded.
Eligibility: Organizations may apply (no limitations indicated). Applicants are asked to provide a written endorsement from a Presbyterian Women’s group of a local church, Presbyterian Women in the Presbytery Coordinating Team, or Presbyterian Women in the Synod Coordinating Team (desirable, but not necessary). New Mexico is within the Synod of the Southwest (www.synodsw.org/about).
