Toshiba America Foundation: Grants for Grades 6-12Deadline: August 1, 2016
Toshiba America Foundation accepts applications from teachers who are passionate about making science and mathematics more engaging for their students. The Foundation’s goal is to improve student achievement in science and math.
Projects should present student learning objectives that are realistic, directly related to the project, measurable, and attainable within the time period of the project. Applicants should also be able to describe the nature, duration and intensity of contact with students for the proposed project, answering, “What will the teacher(s) and students be doing differently?” A sample lesson plan is requested.
Before submitting a completed proposal, teachers are welcome to call the Toshiba America Foundation (212-596-0620) to discuss their project ideas.
Amount: Not provided; grants of more than $5,000 are considered in this cycle.
Eligibility: Funding is usually directed to K-12 schools. Educational nonprofits and universities working with K-12 teachers are occasionally considered, but are asked to call the foundation first.
Note: 6-12 Grade Grant requests for $5,000 or less are accepted on a rolling basis, throughout the calendar year.
