U.S. Department of Health and Human Services: Service Area CompetitionDeadline: August 15, 2014
This program seeks applications for the Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA’s) Health Center Program Service Area Competition (SAC). Applicants must document an understanding of the need for primary health care services in the service area and propose a sound plan to meet this need. The plan must ensure the availability and accessibility of essential primary and preventive health services to all individuals in the service area and target population. Further, applicants must demonstrate that the plan maximizes established collaborative and coordinated delivery systems for the provision of health care to the under-served.
Amount: HRSA will award approximately $591 million in funding to an estimated 242 applicants. Of this, $5,496,795 is designated for the Albuquerque area.
Eligibility: Applicants must be public or nonprofit private entities, such as tribal, faith-based, or community-based organizations, that propose to serve a service area and its associated population (see link for Albuquerque open competition: http://bphc.hrsa.gov/sac/default.aspx).
