Wild Geese Foundation
The Wild Geese Foundation believes in a fair and just society. It is also aware that social justice means nothing if there is no planet to live on, thus its environmental focus. Using a combination of shareholder activism to demand better corporate behavior in regard to the environment and focusing on access to local, quality agriculture, the Foundation hopes to support a shift in the way populations consume the most essential resource – food.
The Foundation does not support traditional, large scale organizations as it feels there are far too many smaller groups who get overlooked, remain underfunded, and who are often too busy doing the day to day work to be able to research where they can obtain grant money.
Amount: Approximately $600,000 is available each year to make awards averaging $10,000.
Eligibility: Organizations that have received 501(c)3 tax-exempt designation or are fiscally sponsored by a 501(c)3 tax-exempt designation group. The Foundation does not review applications from organizations with budgets over $5,000,000.
