Bernalillo County: Patio Grants to County Restaurants
In response to continuance of the State of New Mexico coronavirus (COVID-19) health requirements and limitations which have negatively impacted business income, Bernalillo County seeks to identify and provide financial support to restaurants, cafes, and other eligible food service establishments located outside the boundaries of the City of Albuquerque with viable plans to mitigate business interruption losses by expanding the outdoor dining options for their customers. Utilizing funding provided by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, the Bernalillo County Economic Development Department is making grants available to support food service establishments in setting up and operating the following types of outdoor dining options: Public sidewalks, parklets, private parking lots, and limited street closures.
Amount: $200,000 is available to award grants that range up to $10,000 each.
Eligibility: restaurants, cafes, wineries, and breweries that are permitted to serve food by the Bernalillo County Environmental Health Department, who are located outside the boundaries of the City of Albuquerque, are eligible to apply for an outdoor dining permit(s), and for corresponding grant awards. Entrants must meet the following qualifications: 1) A physical place of business located outside the boundaries of the City of Albuquerque; 2) Current Bernalillo County Business License; 3) Current Bernalillo County Food Establishment Food Permit; or 4) Current application for State of New Mexico Temporary Change/Expansion of Liquor Licensed Premises.
Deadline: August 4, 2020 or until applications exceed the total grant funding.
