City of Albuquerque: Community Impact Fund

The Community Impact Fund will provide emergency assistance to families who were previously excluded from federal stimulus aid, do not qualify for unemployment or paid sick leave benefits, or have experienced loss of employment due to a COVID-19 workplace shutdown. The fund will provide assistance to qualifying households to cover basic needs, food, housing costs, utilities, transportation, school supplies, and other household expenses such as child care, health care, or medical expenses. Assistance can also be used to pay back a loan or debt incurred during the pandemic, or any combination thereof.

Upon successful completion of the application, the direct assistance will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis. A household can apply only once.

Amount: Nearly $2,500,000 will be awarded, providing one-time direct assistance of $2,000.

Eligibility: Households must meet the criteria in Group 1 or Group 2:

Group 1:

  • Reside in the City of Albuquerque
  • Be ineligible for federal stimulus (didn’t get a stimulus check)
  • Be ineligible for unemployment insurance or benefits
  • Experienced job loss or significant reduction in hours or income due to COVID-19
  • Have at least one minor child in the household
  • Not live in a household with someone who has received funding from the CABQ Community Impact Fund

Group 2:

  • Reside in the City of Albuquerque
  • Be ineligible for unemployment insurance, benefits, and sick leave
  • Experience temporary job loss due to a workplace shutdown because of a COVID-19 outbreak or a state-imposed closure
  • Have at least two members in the household
  • Not live in a household with someone who has received funding from the City of Albuquerque Community Impact Fund

Deadline: Applications will be accepted from December 7, 2020 until December 30, 2020 or until funds are exhausted.
