Con Alma Health Foundation: COVID Relief for Immigrant Communities in New Mexico
The Foundation will distribute grants to provide basic needs to immigrants who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and unable to access federal and state resources. Con Alma will award grants to help nonprofits provide such basic needs as crisis intervention, food distribution, housing assistance, case management, civil rights and advocacy, and health care supplies and assistance. The focus of the grants are aims to: 1) Provide direct assistance to New Mexicans who are immigrants, affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, but unable to access federal and state relief; 2) Increase awareness about the structural barriers to the well-being of immigrants and the immigrant community in New Mexico; and 3) Support an increased capacity of stakeholders to mobilize and advocate for the immigrant community, especially children and families in New Mexico. Amount: Grants of 7,500, $10,000, or $15,000 will be awarded. Eligibility: Applicants must have 501(c)(3) public charity status or an approved fiscal sponsor with 501(c)(3) status. Priority will be given to Immigrant led organizations. Deadline: August 14, 2020.
