New Mexico Early Childhood Education & Care Department: NM Child Care Stabilization and Recovery Grant
The New Mexico Child Care Stabilization and Recovery Grant will provide immediate relief and support to eligible child care providers across New Mexico. The grants will cover lost income resulting from closure, response and recovery operation costs (including enhanced cleaning and sanitation), and other expenses. Amount: Grants may range from $2,000-$34,500, depending on setting (licensed home or center), size (e.g., licensed capacity), quality level (e.g., Star 3, 4 and 5), and percent of children receiving child care based on licensed capacity. Child care providers that have licensed capacity to serve more than eight infants and toddlers will receive a differential. Eligibility: Grants are available to qualifying licensed child care providers with between one and two hundred and fifty employees in New Mexico. Companies who do business in New Mexico; nonprofits with 501(c)(3) status, nonprofits without 501(c)(3) status, and other early childhood education and care businesses are eligible. Providers must have severely curtailed business operations or experienced a revenue decline since March 16, 2020 or been forced to close. Deadline: As long as funding remains for the program or until August 31, 2020.
