Association for Medical Imaging Management: Putting Patients First Program

The Putting Patients First Program seeks to improve pediatric and adult patient care and safety in diagnostic imaging through funding programs, training, or seminars aimed at improving patient care and developing best imaging practices in the areas of CT (Computed Tomography), MR (Magnetic Resonance), Ultrasound, X-ray, and Vascular. This collaboration seeks to improve patient care, safety, and cybersecurity in imaging through grants that fund programs, trainings, and seminars at Integrated Delivery Network (IDN)/hospital systems, local hospitals, and imaging centers. The programs funded by these grants will be used to create a best-practices tool to share with other hospitals and institutions.

Amount: Dependent on project type, as follows:

  • Six grants of up to $7,500 are available to be awarded to single-site hospitals and imaging centers.
  • Two grants will be awarded for projects that focus on diagnostic imaging
  • Two grants will be awarded for projects that focus on pediatric imaging
  • One grant will be awarded for a project focused on MSK (musculoskeletal imaging)
  • One grant will be awarded for a project focused on oncology imaging

Two grants of up to $10,000 each are available to be awarded to an IDN or hospital system.

  • One grant will be awarded for projects that improve overall patient care and safety in imaging implemented across the IDN/hospital system
  • One grant will be awarded for projects that improve cybersecurity in imaging implemented across the IDN/hospital system

Eligibility: Dependent on programs, as follows:

  • Single-site hospital or imaging center grant: Organizations must be directly involved in supervising diagnostic imaging in one or more of the following modalities: CT, Ultrasound, MR and/or X-ray/Vascular X-ray at a hospital or imaging center located in the U.S. Organizations must be able to demonstrate support for this grant by a member of the hospital’s or imaging center’s most senior management team, such as providing a letter of support from the CEO, CFO, Board of Directors, or similar-level executive.
  • IDN/hospital system grant and cybersecurity imaging program grant: Organizations must: be part of a hospital system and be able to implement the program systemwide; be directly involved in supervising diagnostic imaging in one or more of the following modalities: CT, Ultrasound, MR, and/or X-ray/Vascular X-ray; and be able to demonstrate support for this grant by a member of the IDN’s/hospital system’s most senior management team, such as providing a letter of support from the CEO, CFO, Board of Directors, or similar-level executive.
