Grant Watch: Week of 8/3/26

The Grant Plant routinely reviews funder websites and notices and is pleased to share some upcoming opportunities with you.

Economic Advancement Grants for Local Empowerment (EAGLE)

  • Deadline: August 27, 2026.
  • Award Size: $300,000 – $1,000,000. This program requires you to contribute 20% of the project’s cost.
  • Purpose: Supporting socioeconomic and cultural success for Native communities through business creation in regenerative agriculture, artificial intelligence, tribal energy sovereignty, and human capital development. The primary goals are to 1) support Native capacity, health, employability, and resourcefulness; 2) foster sustainable economic growth through job creation, infrastructure, and wealth-building; and 3) accelerate economic development and optimize governance. There are multiple Program Areas (PAs): Seventh-Generation Greenhouses; Microgrids; Welders to Elders to promote workforce development; Tradition in Action—A Native Elder Program; and Indigenous Designs to Empower and Advance Self-Determination (IDEAS).
  • Eligibility: Federally-recognized Indian tribes; Incorporated non-federally recognized tribes; Incorporated state-recognized Indian tribes; Consortia of Indian tribes; Incorporated non-profit multi-purpose community-based Indian organizations; Urban Indian Centers; Native CDFIs; National or regional incorporated non-profit Native American organizations with Native American community-specific objectives; Tribal Colleges and Universities. Faith-based and community organizations that meet the eligibility requirements are eligible.
  • Funder: Administration for Children and Families, Administration for Native Americans.

Bolger Foundation Capital Grants
  • Deadline: September 1, 2026. Deadlines occur Sept. 1 and Feb. 1, annually.
  • Award Size: $10,000 – $250,000.
  • Purpose: Bolger Foundation supports capital projects that enhance tangible property owned by the nonprofit organization applying for a grant. The Foundation favors capital projects that will have an ongoing impact, such as the construction or purchase of new facilities; building renovations and improvements; purchase of capital equipment and furnishings; and/or other one-time capital needs. The Bolger Foundation focuses on Community; Conservation and preservation; Education; Those underprivileged and underserved; Health, including mental health. For both cycles, the number of accepted grant applications will be capped at 500 – best to apply as early as possible.
  • Eligibility: 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations located in the US. The Capital project to be funded must have a budget of less than $2.5 million.

Nusenda Community Rewards Giving
  • Deadline: August 31, 2026.
  • Award Size: Grants typically average from $2,500 – $15,000. If awarded, applicants should expect to receive no less than 30% of their total ask. Awards may be operational support or program support.
  • Purpose: Community Rewards is Nusenda’s primary giving program, supporting five focus areas: Education; Environment & Wildlife; The Arts; Community Services; Healthcare.
  • Eligibility: Organizations must serve in one of the company’s service areas: a. Northern New Mexico (includes Santa Fe, San Miguel, Mora, Taos, Rio Arriba, and San Juan Counties); b. Central New Mexico (includes Bernalillo, Sandoval, Valencia, and Torrance Counties); c. Southern New Mexico (includes Dona Ana, Grant, Hidalgo, Luna, Otero, Sierra, and Socorro Counties).

Grants for Buses and Bus Facilities Infrastructure Programs
  • Deadline: September 21, 2026.
  • Award Size: $610 million is available in total (approximately $21 million for the Bus Program and $589 million for the Low-No Program). There is no minimum award amount. The maximum award under the Bus Program is 10% of the total available amount, while there is no maximum for the Low-No Program.
  • Purpose: This program makes federal resources available to replace, rehabilitate, purchase, or lease buses and related equipment, and to construct bus-related facilities. Funding supports the Grants for Buses and Bus Facilities Program and the Low or No Emission Program, which specifically targets the transition to zero-emission and low-emission transit buses and their supporting facilities.
  • Eligibility: Designated recipients that allocate funds to fixed-route bus operators, states, local governmental entities that operate fixed-route bus service, and Indian tribes. Eligible subrecipients include private nonprofit organizations engaged in public transportation.
  • Funder: Federal Transit Administration (FTA), U.S. Department of Transportation

Rural Outreach Grant
  • Deadline: October 15, 2026 (or until funds are fully committed).
  • Award Size: Up to $3,000 for Level 1 grants and up to $7,500 for Level 2 grants.
  • Purpose: To support state and local REALTOR association initiatives, including trainings, forums, events, studies, and ordinance drafting, on a wide range of rural issues such as broadband access, well and septic issues, open space preservation, environmental standards, and planning and zoning issues unique to rural communities.
  • Eligibility: State and local REALTOR associations.
  • Funder: National Association of REALTORS (REALTOR Party).

Tribal Youth Justice Program: Coordinated Tribal Assistance
  • Deadline: October 15, 2026 (Deadline to submit SF-424 via Grants.gov); October 22, 2026 (Deadline to submit full application via JustGrants).
  • Award Size: Up to $100,000 for Seeding Change Planning Grants (Category 1); up to $500,000 for Harvesting Change Enhancement/Expansion Grants (Category 2). Eligibility: Federally recognized Tribes and Tribal consortia.
  • Purpose: This program supports and enhances tribal efforts to prevent and reduce juvenile delinquency and strengthen a fair and beneficial juvenile justice system response for American Indian and Alaska Native youth. Funding helps Tribes build and sustain youth justice systems that are effective in reducing juvenile crime.
  • Eligibility: Native American Tribal governments (federally recognized); Consortia consisting of two or more federally recognized Indian Tribes.
  • Funder: Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), U.S. Department of Justice

Stand Down Grants
  • Deadline: Applications are accepted on a rolling basis through September 30, 2026. (Applications must be submitted at least 90 days before the planned event).
  • Award Size: Up to $7,000 for a one-day event; up to $10,000 for a multi-day event; and up to $50,000 for events in federally declared disaster areas.
  • Purpose: Stand Down Grants support local events that provide a variety of employment, social, and health services to veterans experiencing or at risk of homelessness. These collaborative, community-based events aim to help veterans regain self-sufficiency and reenter the workforce by offering essential resources such as health screenings, housing referrals, mental health services, and job training assistance.
  • Eligibility: A wide range of entities are eligible, including state, county, local, and special district governments; U.S. Territories; Native American tribal governments and organizations; nonprofit organizations (with or without 501(c)(3) status); small businesses; for-profit organizations; state and local workforce development boards; housing authorities; and institutions of higher education.
  • Funder: U.S. Department of Labor, Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS).

Classroom Resources Grants (The Andrew Lloyd Webber Initiative)
  • Deadline: September 18, 2026.
  • Award Size: Up to $50,000.
  • Purpose: Provides direct grant funding to under-resourced public schools to purchase production equipment, musical instruments, costumes, licensing fees, and other essential materials. The goal is to address obstacles in the arts education pipeline by creating new learning opportunities and enhancing existing K-12 theatre programs.
  • Eligibility: Any individual public K-12 school in the United States or a 501(c)(3) non-profit parent organization (such as a PTA/PTO with its own independent EIN) applying on behalf of a public K-12 school. Private/parochial schools, school districts, home schools, and pre-schools are not eligible.
  • Funder: American Theatre Wing (in partnership with the Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation)

Targeted Federal Match
  • Deadline: Applications are accepted on a rolling, first-come, first-served basis as long as funding remains available.
  • Award Size: Minimum grant of $1,000,000 per award (requires securing at least $1,000,000 in non-state/federal funding for the project).
    Eligibility: A New Mexico public entity, or a business registered to do business in New Mexico (or that commits to register before any funds are disbursed).
  • Purpose: This program uses Research, Development and Deployment (RD&D) Fund grants to provide state matching funds for priority federal programs that align with New Mexico’s technology and innovation priorities and target sectors.
  • Eligibility: A New Mexico public entity, or a business registered to do business in New Mexico (or that commits to register before any funds are disbursed).
  • Funder: Technology and Innovation Office (TIO), New Mexico Economic Development Department.
