Bernalillo County: Neighborhood Outreach Grants
The Neighborhood Outreach Grants Program assists neighborhood groups to continue their participation and outreach to residents of Bernalillo County. As part of this program, the Bernalillo County Neighborhood Coordination promotes collaboration between the County and the community. Community building is core to project success: the process of bringing people together and building relationships is as important as project results. Projects must:
- Provide a public benefit
- Be free and open to all residents within neighborhood association boundaries
- Emphasize self‐help, with project ideas initiated, planned, and implemented by the neighbors and community members who will themselves be impacted by the project
- Demonstrate community match (for large projects only)
- Occur within Bernalillo County
Amount: Up to $10,000, specifically: 1) Small project funding (up to $3,000) is for projects that benefit residents of the community and provide a service to those residents; and 2) Large project funding is for projects that are larger in scope that benefit the broader community and may require technical assistance or professional services. These projects have matching requirements and require a fiscal agent. The two levels of funding for large projects are $3,000-$5,000 and $5,000-$10,000. For the highest funding opportunity ($5,000-$10,000), projects require collaboration with other organizations.
Eligibility: Recognized neighborhood associations and coalitions within Bernalillo County are eligible to apply for funding. Projects must demonstrate broad community support.
