Brindle Foundation: Early Opportunities InitiativeDeadline: June 10, 2016
The Brindle Foundation is focused on giving babies a great start in life. The Foundation’s Early Opportunities Initiative grants will support organizations and agencies providing support and enrichment to babies and toddlers (prenatal to age three) and their families. These grants may support organizations that address the wide range of services in early childhood development, including: strengthening families; child care, including care provided by family, friends and neighbors; health and mental health services; early education and literacy; workforce and professional development; nutrition; father engagement; advocacy and policy; and the promotion of play and imagination. Planning grants for innovative new programs and collaborative projects in communities will be considered. The Foundation likes to see organizations “playing in the sandbox together.”
Amount: Grants up to $20,000 will be awarded to organizations that have not received prior funding from the Foundation.
Eligibility: Nonprofit organizations, organizations that have a nonprofit fiscal agent, and government agencies, including school districts and tribal governments that are able to receive and manage grants from private foundations. Organizations must be located in New Mexico; those located in areas where there are more limited funding resources for early childhood are especially encouraged to apply.
