Brindle Foundation: Early Opportunities InitiativeDeadline: September 15, 2017
The Brindle Foundation is focused on giving babies a great start in life. The Foundation’s Early Opportunities Initiative grants will support organizations and agencies providing support and enrichment to babies and toddlers (prenatal to age three) and their families. While funding is open to organizations serving all parts of New Mexico, especially rural areas, the Foundation board has decided on the following 2017 priorities:
- Organizations serving Santa Fe, Rio Arriba, and San Miguel Counties
- Early childhood programs in the state’s higher education institutions
- Organizations engaged in statewide early childhood policy work
Amount: Grants generally range from $5,000-$30,000 per year. Grants of up to $15,000 will be awarded to organizations that have not received prior funding from the Foundation. Current and recent grantees of the Foundation may apply for an amount in the range of their previous support.
Eligibility: Nonprofit organizations, organizations that have a nonprofit fiscal agent, and government agencies, including school districts and tribal governments that are able to receive and manage grants from private foundations. Organizations must be located in New Mexico; those located in areas where there are more limited funding resources for early childhood are especially encouraged to apply.
