Citi Foundation: Summer Jobs Connect
The Citi Foundation and the Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund (CFE Fund) are seeking proposals for a new cohort of Summer Jobs Connect grantees. These grants will support innovative programmatic approaches to helping municipally-led Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) participants open safe bank or credit union accounts and receive financial education services. Building off six successful years of Summer Jobs Connect programming, the CFE Fund will assist a new cohort of up to six additional local municipalities with a planning grant to develop their approach to connect SYEP participants to the financial mainstream. Applicants must manage an existing municipal SYEP and have the ability to make the necessary programmatic, structural, and technological adjustments to build in a banking access component at scale.
Amount: Not specified for the current competition. Since launching in 2014, over $28,000,000 has been awarded, including $5,000,000 in 2019.
Eligibility: Local municipalities may apply.
