Classics for Kids Foundation
The Classics for Kids Foundation believes that playing a stringed instrument can transform a child, giving them experiences and skills that can help make them more successful in life. School music programs have been a primary target for budget cuts over the past two decades. Classics for Kids Foundation was founded in 1997 in response to this crisis in education. The Foundation strengthens strings programs through matching grants, which encourage partnership with local philanthropy. Students with beautiful new instruments are more engaged, tend to practice more, and participate longer in their strings programs.
Amount: Grants of up to 50% of total instrument cost are made.
Eligibility: Schools and nonprofit organizations.
