Con Alma Health Foundation: Northern New Mexico Health Grants Group

Con Alma Health Foundation is organized to be aware of and respond to the health rights and needs of the culturally and demographically diverse peoples and communities of New Mexico. The Foundation seeks to improve the health status and access to health care services for all New Mexicans and advocates for a health policy, which will address the unmet health needs of all New Mexicans.

The Northern New Mexico Health Grants Group (NNMHGG) is a joint initiative of Con Alma Health Foundation and the Los Alamos Medical Center Auxiliary, formed to administer a fund created by proceeds from the 2002 sale of the Los Alamos Medical Center to a for-profit corporation. NNMHGG grants address unmet needs of northern New Mexico communities. Applications that focus on addressing community needs arising from the Los Alamos Medical Center’s change in status (from nonprofit to for-profit) are likely to be highly competitive. Projects that involve collaboration—particularly multi-sector collaboration (public and private, for-profit and non-profit, multiple providers/services, etc.) are also highly regarded. NNMHGG grants are not likely to be awarded for projects with activities replacing public sector health-related services. However, services that supplement or expand health-related services of the public sector may be competitive.

Amount: Up to $15,000.

Eligibility: Nonprofits or organizations applying through a fiscal sponsor. Activities must benefit communities in Los Alamos, Rio Arriba, and northern Santa Fe Counties (northern Santa Fe County excludes the city of Santa Fe and points south).
