Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children: Access to Care GrantsDeadline: August 18, 2014
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry established the Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children (HSHC) initiative in 1987 with the aim of providing dental care for all children nationwide. It is now accepting applications for its 2015 Access to Care Grants. HSHC is committed to supporting community-based initiatives, which includes providing dental homes to children whose families cannot afford dental care. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry defines a Dental Home as the ongoing relationship between the dentist and the patient, inclusive of all aspects of oral health care, delivered in a comprehensive, continuously accessible, coordinated, and family-centered way. HSHC supports this goal through its Access to Care Grants targeting children up to age 18.
