ING/Voya Unsung Heroes Award
ING Unsung Heroes began in 1995 as a way for ING U.S. to demonstrate its commitment to the education community. In fall 2014, ING is transitioning to Voya Financial, and the Unsung Heroes program will reflect that through a name change. The program will stay the same. Grants are given to K-12 educators utilizing new teaching methods and techniques that improve learning. Educators may apply for an Unsung Heroes grant by describing projects they have initiated or would like to pursue. Each project is judged on its innovative method, creativity, and ability to positively influence students.
Amount: 100 educators are selected to receive $2,000 to help fund their innovative class projects. Three of those are chosen to receive the top awards of an additional $5,000, $10,000 and $25,000.
Eligibility: Applicants must be employed by an accredited K-12 public or private school located in the United States, and be full-time educators, teachers, principals, paraprofessionals, or classified staff with effective projects that improve student learning.
