Lead2Feed: Student Leadership ProgramDeadline: April 8, 2016
Lead2Feed is a ten-lesson, standards-based curriculum on the topic of ‘leadership’, with the challenge of solving local, or global, issues via a service-learning project. The leadership principles are based on the book, Taking People With You by David Novak, and focuses on self-awareness, working with others, setting a big goal, and identifying a hunger-related charity to assist. Students will develop a solution and launch a plan to help solve issues in their community or around the world. USA TODAY’s electronic newspaper will be used as a resource to help students study, find real-life examples of leadership and global issues. After students complete their project, they have the opportunity to submit it for a Lead2Feed Leadership Challenge Award.
Amount: Multiple prizes for first, second, and third place will be given of $25,000, $5,000, and $1,000, respectively, for a total amount of up to $275,000.
Eligibility: Teams should consist of at least three students and one teacher/advisor. Teams must partner with a nonprofit, 501(c)3 organization, who would be the recipient of the award.
