National Council of Teachers of Mathematics / TODOS: Fostering Support of Mathematics Learning in Multilingual Classrooms (PreK-12)

Fostering Support of Mathematics Learning in Multilingual Classrooms grants provide financial assistance to Pre-K-12 schools to increase understanding and expertise in fostering support of multi-language development when teaching mathematics. The proposed project must address the development of classroom materials with a consultant or the purchase of materials to implement professional learning with educators. The consultant must have expertise in both teaching mathematics and teaching language.

Grants may cover costs for honoraria and expenses for consultants, materials, substitute time, and conference or workshop registrations. While this grant does not fund the purchase of technology, proposals including professional development involving the use of technology to enhance student learning are encouraged.

Amount: One grant of $4,000 will be awarded to a school.

Eligibility: PreK-12 schools that have at least one current (on or before October 13, 2017) Full Individual or E-Member of NCTM or teach at a school with a current (on or before October 13, 2017) NCTM Pre-K-8 school membership. Additionally, the applying school must have at least one current (on or before October 13, 2017) member of TODOS. For information about TODOS memebership email: membership@todos-math.org.
