PetCo Foundation: Animal Sheltering & Adoption
The mission of the Petco Foundation is to raise the quality of life for pets and people who love and need them. The Foundation believes that raising the quality of life for pets requires creating lifesaving communities nationwide. The PetCo Foundation does not seek to fund particular situations, but instead desires to invest in building solid organizations to enable them to handle situations as they occur. Funding requests are assessed based on an organization’s past effectiveness in assisting animals, as well as the likelihood that PetCo’s investment will make a positive impact on saving animal lives in the future.
Amount: Not provided. However, organizations that serve a significant number of animals (2,500 per year or more), may apply for a Lifesaving Impact award. These awards are of $100,000 or more, and/or multi-year awards.
Eligibility: Animal Control agencies and non-profit organizations responsible for animal control field support and sheltering services; Non-profit organizations responsible for animal control sheltering services but not field support (via contract or otherwise); SPCA/Humane Societies and other non-profits that provide care and adoption services for animals in a sheltering facility; Non-profit organizations that are primarily foster-based rescues.
