Project Learning Tree: GreenWorks! Grant ProgramDeadline: September 30, 2015
Project Learning Tree’s mission is to advance environmental literacy and promote stewardship through excellence in environmental education, professional development, and curriculum resources that use trees and forests as windows on the world. Project Learning Tree offers grants for service-learning projects that improve schools or restore natural habitats.
Projects should clearly emphasize how students will learn through active engagement in the classroom and in the community, and should emphasize critical thinking and problem solving skills. Proposals should provide a strong sense of student voice, with students involved in planning the project as well as implementing it, and proposals should highlight opportunities for student leadership.
Amount: Grants of up to $1,000 each will be awarded.
Eligibility: Any organization, community group, nature center, museum, school, etc. that involves youth in environmental and/or conservation education. Applicants should attend an in-person or online training prior to applying (information available at the website).
