Santa Fe Community Foundation: Spring Grant Cycle
Deadline: March 9, 2020The Santa Fe Community Foundation welcomes grant proposals for general operating or project-specific funding from organizations that improve outcomes in the following target Area of Impact: Educational Success and Career Pathways: All children and youth succeed in education prepared for a career. The Foundation will support organizations that work to improve:
- Kindergarten readiness
- 3rd grade reading proficiency
- 8th grade math proficiency
- High school graduation rates
- Disconnected youth rate (youth ages 16-24 not in school and not working)
Through direct service, policy advocacy, and/or collaboration efforts, priority strategies will address:
- Access to quality, affordable early childhood and education
- Integrated student and family supports for at-risk/vulnerable populations with strong place-based solutions supported by network of caring and appropriately trained adult and peer relationships
- Access to quality, affordable out-of-school time (after school and summer) opportunities for low-income/at-risk students
- Targeted interventions to close the academic achievement gap across key milestones from birth to career
- Real life and personally relevant education including career exploration and alternative pathways opportunities for disconnected and/or at-risk youth
- Educator/provider/family training and support so that they can be strong advocates and supporters for children/students’ success, especially in high need areas
Amount: A total of $135,000 is available to make grants of $5,000, $10,000 or $15,000 each, depending on the applicant organization’s annual budget. Organizations with an annual budget under $150,000 may apply for a $5,000 grant; organizations with an annual budget between $150,000-$500,000 may apply for a $10,000 grant; organizations with an annual budget over $500,000 may apply for a $15,000 grant.
Eligibility: Organizations that:
- Are located in or serve the people of Santa Fe, Rio Arriba, San Miguel, or Mora Counties
- Are tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or are a public or governmental agency or a federally recognized tribe in the state of New Mexico, or that have a fiscal sponsor
- Are at least three years old
