U.S. Conference of Mayors: Childhood Obesity Prevention Awards
The United States Conference of Mayors (USCM), in partnership with the American Beverage Foundation for a Healthy America (ABFHA), has launched the 2017 Childhood Obesity Prevention Grants Program. In 2017, the fifth year of the program, six cities will share a total of $445,000 in grant awards, to support both new and existing programs initiated by USCM member mayors that address the childhood obesity epidemic in America’s cities.
Amount: Awards are made in three categories – small, medium and large city:
- Small City (population less than 75,000): 2nd Place $25,000; 1st Place $100,000
- Medium City (population between 75,000 and 250,000): 2nd Place $25,000; 1st Place $120,000
- Large City (population greater than 250,000): 2nd Place $25,000; 1st Place $150,000
Eligibility: Cities must meet the following criteria:
- The city must be a member of The United States Conference of Mayors
- The program application submission must include a letter of support from the Mayor
