United Way of Northern New Mexico: Community Action Fund
The United Way of Northern New Mexico (UWNNM) Community Action Fund supports organizations that address the greatest needs in Los Alamos and Rio Arriba counties, as identified with County Health Councils. UWNNM will consider proposals that impact one of the following focus areas: Education, Financial Stability, or Health. Specific topics may include:
- Los Alamos Impact Area: Alzheimer’s programs and services; behavioral and mental health awareness; basic needs services; youth development–mentorship; and early childhood education
- Rio Arriba Impact Areas: Substance rehabilitation/prevention (comprehensive path to recovery); behavioral and mental health treatment awareness; basic needs services; youth development–mentorship, and early childhood education
Additionally, through the UWNNM Behavioral Health(y) Community Initiative, UWNNM will give competitive priority to applicants focused on a clearly defined population related to or serving behavioral and mental health programs to include, but are not limited to, improving access to mental health service providers, substance abuse programs, programs that educate on mental and behavioral health issues, and preventative programs. Focus areas are specific to the two target geographic locations:
- Rio Arriba: UWNNM is seeking to fund nonprofits committed to organizing a comprehensive path to recovery through community collaborations and partnerships
Los Alamos: UWNNM is seeking to fund nonprofits committed to organizing a comprehensive case management program

Eligibility: Nonprofit organizations located in or serving Los Alamos or Rio Arriba County.
