United Way of Northern New Mexico: Community Action Fund

The Community Action Fund aims at tackling the most pressing challenges in Los Alamos and Rio Arriba Counties. Organizations are able to become a Community Partner through the United Way of Northern New Mexico’s grant process. Applicants should have a focus or program aimed at helping residents with the most pressing needs in the areas of Education, Financial Stability, and Health. Particular topics of interest are as follows:

  • Los Alamos impact area: Alzheimer’s care, basic needs services, early childhood education, mental health treatment or awareness, and youth development or mentorship
  • Rio Arriba impact area: Substance rehabilitation or prevention, basic needs services, early childhood education, mental health treatment or awareness, and youth development or mentorship

Amount: Average $7,500-$20,000

Eligibility: Nonprofit organizations that serve Los Alamos and/or Rio Arriba Counties and have administrative costs that are less than 25% of the total organization budget.
