VOYA Financial: Unsung Heroes
VOYA Unsung Heroes is administered by Scholarship America, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Unsung Heroes grants are given to K-12 educators utilizing new teaching methods and techniques that improve learning. Proposed educational projects are judged on the following: innovative method, creativity, and ability to positively influence the students. Examples of past projects may be found at the VOYA website.
Amount: One hundred finalists will receive a $2,000 grant. At least one grant is awarded in each of the 50 states, provided at least one qualified application was received from each state. Of the 100 finalists, three are selected for additional financial awards: $25,000 for first place; $10,000 for second place; and $5,000 for third place.
Eligibility: Applicants must be:
- Employed by an accredited K-12 public or private school located in the United States
- Full-time educators, teachers, principals, paraprofessionals, or classified staff with effective and innovative projects that improve student learning
Applications must be verified by the school superintendent, principal or applicant’s immediate supervisor.
