Grant Watch: Week of 11/18/2024

The Grant Plant routinely reviews funder websites and notices and is pleased to share some upcoming opportunities with you.

WITH Foundation

  • Deadline: December 6, 2024, at 5:00 PM PST.
  • Purpose: To support programs that improve healthcare delivery for adults with developmental disabilities, focusing on areas such as practitioner competency, reimbursement systems, care coordination, advocacy, supported decision-making, digital health, and social policy research.
  • Award Size: Grants are available up to $150,000 for most projects. Research-focused grants can be up to $250,000.
  • Eligibility: Applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations based in the United States. While there is an emphasis on the San Francisco Bay area, other geographies are not excluded.

Teiger Foundation

  • Deadline: January 28, 2025, at 5:00 PM ET.
  • Purpose: Provides grants for US-based, curator-led initiatives in contemporary visual art, including supporting innovative curatorial projects, research, and programming, including climate action for curators. Projects must open to the public between September 1, 2025, and August 31, 2027.
  • Award Size: Varies by project type; max grants range from $50,000-$150,000.

Vanguard Philanthropic Impact Fund

  • Deadline: January 15, 2025
  • Purpose: Enhances philanthropic giving by supporting organizations that educate donors on effective charitable contributions and assist nonprofits in delivering impactful solutions. It focuses on: (1) Donor Support: Providing resources to help donors make informed, effective granting decisions; (2) Nonprofit Support: Enhancing nonprofit capabilities to offer meaningful and efficient services aligned with their missions.
  • Award Size: Grants typically range between $30,000-$50,000.

Glenn W. Bailey STEM Fund

  • Deadline: Rolling, reviewed monthly.
  • Purpose: Supports STEM education, entrepreneurial training, innovative environmental projects, and biomedical research in the U.S.
  • Award Size: Grants typically range between $20,000 and $35,000.
  • Eligibility: U.S.-based organizations with feasible, cost-effective programs aligned with the foundation’s mission.

New Mexico Outdoor Recreation Division Trails+ Grant

  • Deadline: December 31, 2024
  • Purpose: Supports outdoor infrastructure projects like trails, parks, and wildlife viewing areas that enhance outdoor recreation access, economic development, and wellness.
  • Award Size: Up to $99,999 for local projects; up to $500,000 for regional projects.
  • Eligibility: Organizations with shovel-ready projects in New Mexico, prioritizing Tribal and rural areas.

Save America’s Treasures Grant

  • Deadline: December 12, 2024
  • Purpose: To fund projects preserving historic structures or cultural collections that highlight U.S. heritage and are nationally significant historic properties and collections.
  • Award Size: Up to $750,000 for preservation projects; up to $500,000 for collections.
  • Eligibility: U.S.-based nonprofits, state, local, and Tribal governments with eligible historic properties or collections.

New Mexico Historic Preservation Division (HPD)

  • Deadline: February 2, 2024, for the Cultural Properties Restoration Fund (CPRF).
  • Purpose: Supports restoration, preservation planning, education, and Register nominations for cultural properties in New Mexico.
  • Award Size: Varies based on project scope and funding availability.
  • Eligibility: Owners of properties listed in the State or National Register, nonprofits, and Certified Local Governments.

Chamiza Foundation

  • Deadline: Round 1: February 7, 2025
  • Purpose: Supports projects that preserve and sustain Pueblo Indian culture and traditions, including those focused on language preservation, traditional arts, sustainable agriculture, youth education, and intercultural exchange.
  • Award Size: $3,000–$15,000 on average.
  • Eligibility: Pueblo communities, Ysleta del Sur Pueblo, and organizations with Pueblo Governor support.

DOE Office of Indian Energy – Current Funding Opportunities
  1. Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) DE-FOA-0003401
    • Deadline: Applications due by January 23, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. ET.
    • Purpose: To conduct clean energy design and development activities.
    • Award Size: Approximately $25 million available, with individual awards ranging from $100,000 to $2,500,000.
    • Eligibility: Tribal entities and organizations.
  2. FOA DE-FOA-0003403
    • Deadline: Applications due by December 18, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. ET.
    • Purpose: To support clean energy projects in tribal communities.
    • Award Size: Approximately $5 million available, with individual awards ranging from $100,000 to $350,000.
    • Eligibility: Tribal entities and organizations.

New Mexico Documentary Incubator Grant (NMDIG)

  • Deadline: December 1, 2024
  • Purpose: To cultivate local filmmaking talent by providing financial support, guidance, and networking opportunities, with a preference for projects addressing community issues and challenges in New Mexico.
  • Award Size: Up to $5,000 per film project, with plans to fund between six and eight projects.
  • Eligibility: Applicants must be key creative members (writer, director, or producer) of the proposed documentary project and maintain a primary residence in New Mexico. Preference is given to subjects involving community issues and challenges in the state.

Youth Garden Grant 2025

  • Deadline: December 13, 2024
  • Purpose: To fund new or existing garden programs serving at least 15 youth aged 0 to 18; supports school and youth educational garden projects that enhance the quality of life for youth and their communities.
  • Award Size: $500 for 50 programs, with 10 additional programs receiving a specialty award package.
  • Eligibility: Open to any organization in the U.S. or its territories planning a new or improving an existing garden program that serves at least 15 youth between the ages of 0 and 18. Previous winners from 2023-2024 are not eligible.
