Grant Watch: Week of 2/10/25

The Grant Plant routinely reviews funder websites and notices and is pleased to share some upcoming opportunities with you.

Supporting Effective Educator Development (SEED) Program

  • Deadline: Letter of Inquiry: February 18, 2025; Full Proposal: March 18, 2025
  • Purpose: To increase the number of highly effective educators by supporting the implementation of evidence-based practices that prepare, develop, or enhance the skills of educators. Grants will support the development, expansion, and evaluation of practices that can serve as models to be sustained and disseminated.
  • Award Size: $1,000,000 – $6,000,000
  • Eligibility: Institutions of Higher Education; national nonprofit entities; the Bureau of Indian Education; and partnerships consisting of one or more of the entities described previously and a for-profit entity.

Frankenthaler Climate Initiative Grants

  • Deadline: March 28, 2025
  • Purpose: To support visual arts organizations in implementing projects that promote clean energy generation, energy efficiency, and other sustainable practices, thereby reducing their carbon footprint and contributing to a healthier environment.
  • Award Size: Ranging from $50,000 to $100,000
  • Eligibility: Nonprofit entities based in the United States and Territories that regard the visual arts as the primary focus of their mission and activities.

National Dance Project Production Grant

  • Deadline: February 28, 2025
  • Purpose: To support the creation and touring of new dance works by professional choreographers and dance companies.
  • Award Size: Up to $100,000
  • Eligibility: Professional choreographers and dance companies.

Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training Program for Paraprofessionals

  • Deadline: March 24, 2025
  • Purpose: To fund transdisciplinary research teams that build public knowledge about the arts and their contributions to individuals, communities, and society at large. Each lab will conduct multiple research studies and develop a suite of products or services.
  • Award Size: Ranging from $100,000 to $300,000
  • Eligibility: State-licensed mental health nonprofit or state-licensed mental health for-profit organization.

NEA Research Labs

  • Deadline: March 18, 2025
  • Purpose: To develop and expand community-based experiential training, such as field placements and internships, for paraprofessional students in behavioral health-related fields.
  • Award Size:  Up to $500,000
  • Eligibility: Public and state institutions of higher education, state governments, city or township governments, independent school districts, county governments, private institutions of higher education, nonprofits with 501(c)(3) status, special district governments, and federally recognized Native American tribal governments.

Albuquerque Community Foundation

  • Deadline: March 27, 2025
  • Purpose: To provide general operating support to nonprofit organizations serving the Greater Albuquerque Metropolitan Area (Bernalillo, Sandoval, Torrance, and Valencia counties) in seven fields of interest: Arts and Culture, Education, Environmental & Historic Preservation, Economic & Workforce Development, Human Services, Health, and Animal Welfare.
  • Award Size: $10,000 – $20,000
  • Eligibility: Nonprofit organizations exempt under 501(c)(3), public educational institutions, or public agencies serving the Greater Albuquerque Metropolitan Area.

Lowe’s Hometowns

  • Deadline: February 18, 2025 (Nominations)
  • Purpose: To provide grants to local nonprofits for community revitalization projects, including renovations and rebuilding of various facilities. Projects may include safe and affordable housing, community resources, outdoor spaces, cultural preservation, and skilled trades education facilities.
  • Award Size: Part of a five-year, $100 million commitment
  • Eligibility: Local nonprofits are eligible to be nominated.

Direct Action Visionary Grants

  • Deadline: April 30, 2025
  • Purpose: To fund projects that use psychological knowledge to address pressing community needs, focusing on marginalized communities, ending prejudice and stigma, preventing violence, or exploring mind-body health connections.
  • Award Size: Up to $60,000
  • Eligibility: Individuals and organizations are eligible to apply. Applicants do not need to be psychologists or mental health professionals. Projects should align with one of the American Psychological Foundation’s four Visionary Priorities.

Lowe’s Foundation Gable Grants Program

  • Deadline: March 31, 2025
  • Purpose: To address the skilled trades labor gap by providing grants to community and technical colleges and community-based nonprofits that offer skilled trades training. The program aims to train 50,000 people in the skilled trades.
  • Award Size: $100,000 – $1,000,000
  • Eligibility: Community and technical colleges and community-based nonprofits that provide skilled trades training are eligible.

Pathway Home 6

  • Deadline: March 14, 2025
  • Purpose: To provide workforce services to incarcerated individuals pre- and post-release to facilitate successful reintegration into society and reduce recidivism.
  • Award Size: $500,000 – $4,000,000
  • Eligibility: State governments, county governments, Native American tribal governments, city or township governments, Native American tribal organizations, nonprofit organizations.

Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act Consultation/Documentation Grants

  • Deadline: March 31, 2025
  • Purpose: To support consultation and documentation projects under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA).
  • Award Size: $5,000 – $150,000
  • Eligibility: Nonprofits 501(c)(3) status, excluding institutions of higher education, county governments, special district governments, public and state-controlled institutions of higher education, city or township governments, state governments, and federally recognized Native American tribal governments.
